My culture teenagers

In my culture teenagers are  misundertood  but  I think it is the  same  in most cultures around the  Word.
Adolescence is  a period of fundamental changes for  the youth and  I think that the older generations are rigid and don't try to understand these changes.
They completely forget that once they were teens, they only try to  be representatives of responsible adults.
According to  them at least in my culture, adolescents are  totally  immature, irresponsible. They also think they are potential social failures, criminals and drug-addicts.
In my  culture  teenagers are  not seriously considered , nobody take care of  their opinion till they get married ,  have a  job and children.
The  culture of  the youth is very rich and interesting, it's open to  the word and to  all people.
So the older generations shoud take the opportunity to  make profit of this wealth  !

  1. I totally agree with you that adults think teenagers are just immature, or partiers. When in reality teenagers have a lot of responsibility and have a lot of pressure set on them. I believe adults expect us to be mature and responsible, but treat us like little kids. I love your blog and hope to hear from you soon! -Victoria.

  2. You talk about how "the older generations are rigid and don't try to understand" the "fundamental changes " of adolescence. I think it must be understood that this is a stereotype and though not inaccurate for the majority, it must be said that there is a good portion that does or at least tries to understand our generation. Yes, many people in the older generations need to be more open and accepting, but we, the younger generation, must not just cast off the teachings of our elders. They may not all be correct or completely accepting, but many often have important meaning and purpose to them.

  4. Our teenage years really are times to develop and learn things for ourselves'. A lot of adults believe that we're reckless and irresponsible like you said, and I totally agree with you that that is not true! Honestly, I feel like many of the stereotypes that they have of our generation are caused by one bad teen they encountered and now they think that we are all like that. We have a tremendous amount of expectations set upon us and I don't think they realize how hard we try to meet them. I fully understand where you're coming from with this.
